Email & Password

Email and password is the most common way to sign in to the platform. This guide covers everything you need to know about managing your email-based authentication.

Creating an Account

Sign Up with Email

1. Go to the Sign Up page
2. Enter your email address
3. Create a strong password (see requirements below)
4. Click Create Account
5. Check your email for a verification link
6. Click the link to verify your email and complete sign-up

Password Requirements

For your security, passwords must:

• Be at least 8 characters long
• Include uppercase and lowercase letters
• Include at least one number
• Include at least one special character (!, @, #, etc.)

Tip: Use a password manager to generate and store strong, unique passwords.

Signing In

Standard Sign-In

1. Go to the Sign In page
2. Enter your email address
3. Enter your password
4. Click Sign In

Remember Me

Check the Remember Me box to stay signed in for longer. Only use this on trusted, personal devices.

Password Management

Forgot Password?

If you've forgotten your password:

1. Click Forgot Password? on the sign-in page
2. Enter your email address
3. Click Send Reset Link
4. Check your email (including spam folder)
5. Click the reset link in the email
6. Enter your new password
7. Sign in with your new password

Note: Password reset links expire after 1 hour for security.

Change Your Password

To update your password while signed in:

1. Click your avatar → Settings
2. Go to Security
3. Find Password section
4. Click Change Password
5. Enter your current password
6. Enter your new password twice
7. Click Update Password

Email Verification

Why Verify?

Email verification:

• Confirms you own the email address
• Enables password recovery
• Allows you to receive important notifications

Resend Verification Email

If you didn't receive the verification email:

1. Try signing in — you'll see a message about verification
2. Click Resend Verification Email
3. Check your inbox and spam folder
4. Click the verification link

Change Your Email

To use a different email address:

1. Go to Settings → Account
2. Click Change Email
3. Enter your new email address
4. Enter your password to confirm
5. Check your new email for a verification link
6. Click the link to confirm the change

Your old email will remain active until you verify the new one.

Account Security

Signs of Unauthorized Access

Watch for:

• Password reset emails you didn't request
• Sign-in notifications from unknown locations
• Changes to your account you didn't make

If you notice any of these:

1. Change your password immediately
2. Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
3. Review and end any suspicious sessions
4. Contact support if needed

Protecting Your Account

1. Use a unique password — Don't reuse passwords from other sites
2. Enable MFA — Adds a second layer of protection
3. Keep email secure — Your email is the key to password resets
4. Review sessions regularly — Check for unfamiliar devices

Troubleshooting

"Invalid email or password"

• Double-check your email address spelling
• Ensure Caps Lock is off
• Try resetting your password

"Email not confirmed"

• Check your inbox for the verification email
• Check spam/junk folders
• Request a new verification email

Not receiving emails?

• Add our email address to your contacts/whitelist
• Check spam and junk folders
• Verify you're checking the correct email account
• Try an alternative sign-in method (Google, GitHub)

Account locked?

After multiple failed sign-in attempts, your account may be temporarily locked. Wait 15 minutes and try again, or reset your password.
